2001 Racing Season

The Datware #98 and #99 karts are owned and prepared by Michael Dickinson of Dickinson Championship Motorsports.

The #98 kart chassis is a Margay Lynx with oval style body work.  The #99 kart chassis is a Bandit Intimidator.  The motors are Briggs & Stratton 5hp, IKF/WKA stock built by Mitch Bragg of Performance Unlimited/Bandit Karts, Winchester VA.  Actually a stock Briggs motor gets 10.5hp with methanol alcohol and a few modification.  The clutches are Hortsman MDC-400 and the tires are Bridgestone.

The karts' speed is anywhere from 45 MPH to 60 MPH depending on the track.  On the 1/8 mile dirt oval at I76 Speedway in Ft Morgan, CO the kart averages 45 MPH.  Where as, at the beautiful 1/5 mile asphalt oval in Dodge City, KS the karts are in the 50 MPH to 60 MPH range.  Not bad for 10.5hp!
